You can order thousands of items from Your Independent Grocer with Skip, including health and beauty essentials, snacks, groceries, medications, personal care items, pet supplies, and more.
To place an order with Skip, you can use either the Skip app or the Skip website and search for the Your Independent Grocer location nearest you.
Couriers get transit pay, based on time and distance of order. Bonuses and incentives are based on time of day, order type, and other factors. Total Pay is shown to the courier before they accept an offer. Couriers receive 100% of tips, and you’ll have the option to rate your courier after delivery. You can add a tip when placing your order before checkout. If you miss it, you may also tip in cash upon delivery.
At checkout, a pre-authorization hold (25% higher than the total amount) is placed on your payment card based on the initial order total. Your final charge is updated after the order is completed to reflect any approved substitutions or out-of-stock items. You pay through the Skip app using your saved payment method, just like any other order.

Once an order is placed, items cannot be manually changed. If an item is unavailable, the courier will suggest a replacement in the app. You can approve or decline these substitutions in real-time, and you’ll only ever be charged for the items you receive.
This can happen if items are out of stock, substitutions aren’t available, or substitution requests aren’t approved in time. Any unavailable items are removed and you’re only charged for what you receive.
Use the “Need Help” option under “Your Account” in the Skip app or website. You may cancel your order at no cost until the courier starts shopping; after that point, cancellation may not be possible or could result in charges for items already purchased. For any other concerns, Skip Support is available through the app to assist you.
Once your order is accepted, you can track it in real time in the Skip app: From shopping through delivery.
All recalls, refunds, and order issues should be reported to Skip customer service by reaching out to support@skipthedishes.ca or use the chat function in the application to get hold of one of our advisors. No returns should be made in store.
