As a leading online food delivery network, we have the power to influence the industry for the better. That’s why we work hard to empower and support our employees, strengthen our communities, and create meaningful partnerships with charitable organizations across Canada.
We’re committed to using our business as a force for good. Each year, Skip engages with non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and educational institutions to support causes that reflect our priorities of caring for our communities, fighting food waste and insecurity, promoting diversity and inclusion and providing career-building opportunities.
Since 2018, we’ve partnered with Pride organizations throughout the country in support of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, participating in Pride parades and experiences in Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Montreal and Ottawa. Through annual donations and employee initiatives, we’re proud to help increase visibility and resources as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
In 2019, we launched our annual giving campaign, Stronger Together, in support of United Way. Each year, our teams come together to support children, move families out of poverty, and build healthier and stronger communities. Through employee giving and corporate donations, we’ve donated over $500,000 to United Way chapters across Canada.
Skip and Food Banks Canada have been proud partners since 2020, with a joint mission to increase access to food for all Canadians. Over three years, we’ve donated over 4 million meals across 4,750 food banks and community agencies across the country. As of 2023, we are also providing monthly food donations from our Skip Express Lane stores.
Nearly 1 in 5 Canadian children are food insecure, and through our ongoing Food for Thought campaign, we work with Mealshare, a social enterprise working to end youth hunger in our lifetime. Since 2020, our partnership has provided over 40,000 meals each year to children in need.
At Skip, we’re invested in providing career-building opportunities so that our employees can reach their full potential, but this approach doesn’t end with us internally. As a leading tech company built in the Prairies, we are committed to cultivating the next generation of talent through partnerships with Canadian schools and organizations that support education, mentorship, and skill development.
