On the way to Waterton, there is an oft-visited gas station (a Husky, I believe) located on the highway in Cardston. They used to serve these LOVELY soft-serve malts that just hit the spot! When making this recipe, I worked hard to replicate that flavor. The result is an ice cream made with Dutch-process cocoa (alkalized cocoa) featuring notes of cinnamon and allspice. It is a very smooth, gentle chocolate that is universally liked. It's not a strong chocolate, but it is a very rounded, enjoyable flavor. If you get lucky, you might get to try a new flavor we haven't released in scoops yet, or a past favorite. Pints are frozen hard and are recommended to leave in the fridge for a few hours before scooping.
